Crystal report export into CSV

Postby be05x5 on Fri Jan 22, 2010 2:02 pm

I am not sure if this is an event manager issue or a crystal report issue but export from a crystal report into a csv (comma separated values) exports all of the header information on every single line over and over again...

Does anyone know how to set things up so that this is not the case? I only want the header information exported once as the top row...
Thanks

If you export from Crystal itself independent of event manager do you get the same results? What version of crystal?

Yes I do. Version 10 of Crystal running on the Event manager.
However, I did a workaround that I found online by doing some groups and hiding all the headers. In this case export from Crystal worked fine but from Event manager it was still exporting all headers for each line.
Then I ended up using a formula for each field and if row number was 1 I printed header else data... Very tedious and time consuming so i would like to fix this if there is a way.

We purchased Grid UFL from krystal keen. It allows you to export formatted data from Crystal to Excel. I am having trouble making it work through Event Manager, however. If anyone else is using this product with Event Manager please let me know.

Event Manager has its own embedded crystal engine, so in order for it to work with your Grid tool, you would likely need to have Event Manager modified. I would post this in the Event Manager forum and/or email this issue directly to Vineyardsoft.

I spoke with Corey about this the other day and he did indeed say that exporting to a CSV was an issue.
with EEM. Now we all know crystal its self can do this.

so you could do this with crystal
Or another idea is if you are doing it for a simple flat file you could do it to a txt file then just change the extension as well.
